I wanna new drug

I think I have found it. Its called the “Medtronic Mag Pro transcranial magnetic stimulator.” Allan Snyder, a scientist who focuses on human cognition is the shaman that is developing and experimenting with it. Now, I haven’t tried it, but I am fascinated with the idea of it.

People undergoing TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) “can suddenly exhibit savant intelligence — those isolated pockets of geniuslike mental ability that most often appear in autistic people.” Says Snyder, ”You could call this a creativity-amplifying machine. It’s a way of altering our states of mind without taking drugs like mescaline. You can make people see the raw data of the world as it is. As it is actually represented in the unconscious mind of all of us.”

There is a nice article on it here.

As a person who depends on creatively interpreting the world, this sounds way cool. Beyond my need to remember the basics like where the hell I put my keys, expanding my creativity in dealing with design issues and intractable marketing challenges sounds great. I’ll take any help I can get. And I can think of a few people I’d like to strap it onto just so they might learn to drive.
